I am going to use this blog to keep track of what I am reading and what I have read. It will be a reader's journal where I can write reviews, have goals, and share wonderful books.

Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen
I just finished Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen this morning. It is a fun YA book that delves into how people keep themselves hidden and separated from other people. The main character, Ruby, is abandoned by her mother and was living alone for two months when her plight is discovered by social workers, and she is sent to live with her sister who she hasn't seen in ten years. She has to learn how to trust people to help her and learn how to be open to helping others as well. Although it delves into issues like abuse and alcoholism, it does not go in-depth with graphic scenes. It is a good summer read for young adults .
I enjoy making and creating things as well as reading. I love modern fabrics and creating new things from little cut up pieces of fabric. I have been making quilts and recently discovered a love for little girl clothes. I love art, whether it is painting or textiles!
